Clear App Cache Without Deleting Apps on Samsung Galaxy

If your Samsung Galaxy feels slow or certain apps start misbehaving, you don’t need to uninstall them. Instead, you can clear app cache to fix performance issues without deleting app data or settings.

Step 1: Open Settings

Go to Settings > Apps. You’ll see a list of all installed apps on your Galaxy device.

Step 2: Select the App

Choose the app you want to clean — for example, Instagram, YouTube, or Samsung Internet. This opens the app’s info page.

Step 3: Clear Cache

Tap Storage > Clear Cache. This removes temporary files that may cause lag or freezing. Do not tap “Clear Data” — that option resets the app completely.

Step 4: Use Device Care to Clean System Cache

Open Settings > Battery and Device Care > Storage, then tap Clean Now. This removes leftover cache files from multiple apps safely.

Step 5: Wipe Cache Partition (Advanced)

If your phone is still sluggish, power it off and boot into Recovery Mode. Use the volume keys to select Wipe Cache Partition, then restart. This doesn’t delete any personal data or apps.

AvNexo Tip

Try automating cache cleanup with Device Care. Go to Settings > Battery and Device Care > Auto Optimization and enable daily optimization — your Galaxy will clear unnecessary cache files automatically.
