Disable App Notifications Only During Meetings on iPhone in US

If you want to stay focused during meetings without being interrupted by constant notifications, your iPhone running iOS 18 offers smart tools to silence apps automatically. This guide explains how users in the United States can disable app notifications only during scheduled meetings using Focus modes and Calendar integration.

Step 1: Open Focus Settings

Go to Settings > Focus and tap the + icon to create a new Focus mode. Choose Work or Meeting as the base template to control how notifications behave during specific times or events.

Step 2: Customize Allowed Notifications

Select which apps and people can send notifications while this Focus mode is active. For example, allow messaging apps like Slack or Teams but silence social media or games. This ensures you receive only essential alerts during meetings.

Step 3: Link Focus Mode with Calendar Events

Scroll down to Set a Schedule and choose Smart Activation or Add Schedule. Select Calendar Events and enable activation during any meeting with “Busy” status in your default Calendar app. This automatically silences apps only when a meeting is active.

Step 4: Use Siri Suggestions

In iOS 18, Siri can detect when you’re in a meeting and suggest enabling your Meeting Focus. Accept Siri’s prompt when entering a conference or video call for automatic activation.

Step 5: Turn On Meeting Focus Manually

If your meeting schedule varies, open Control Center and tap the Focus icon, then choose Meeting. You can also set a shortcut on your Lock Screen for quicker access.

Step 6: Review Notification Summary

After your meeting ends, iOS will compile a Notification Summary showing what you missed while the Focus mode was on. You can customize this summary under Settings > Notifications > Scheduled Summary.

AvNexo Tip

Combine Meeting Focus with your Calendar’s work hours for a seamless experience. You can also sync this Focus mode across multiple Apple devices — so your Mac, iPad, and Apple Watch all stay quiet during important meetings.
